Greetings Programs!
For anyone who is into computers and movies, Tron will probably strike a chord, maybe even a few fond memories.
If you've been paying attention to what it did for movies in 1982 and beyond, you know many of the big names in Hollywood now, were kids, or in college when it emerged from the Walt Disney studios.
It left an enduring impression on people who realized that there could be a creative union of the real world with that of the digital. For the last 28 years, the line that was digitized, has become more and more indistinguishable from that of reality. That line, is an integral part of just about anything that you see in movies, tv, games, internet, and even print mediums.
Digital is here to stay.
Tron Legacy is a continuation of that story, let loose all so long ago. A movie that was green lit by a studio for a rather large production budget. A continuation of a story that wasn't exactly box office gold when it came out. A continuation of the technical advancements pushed in the first Tron... just like its predecessor, a gamble.
I am a fan. From the first time I saw it, it led me to believe that creativity could exist beyond the paper I was used to. That my canvas could not capture. That my film could not quite develop. My imagination could exist beyond my mind, in another form other than words, to be shared with others.
The marketing behind the sequel, is getting warmed up I think. The clues are being spread around, tidbits of information left unattended, gobbled up by those of us seeking more...
Much the same way, I suspect, we will consume the sequel in December....
Enjoy this teaser.
